Determination Is Worth Fighting For!

" All of us can pursue our dreams in life but some people lack determination. We must believe in ourselves and also in God." I like to encourage teens. Never let your guard down :) Believe in your dreams.

All over the world there are people changing the world. Mostly there are adult changing the world but there are also youth fighting for a better future. All over the world people want to improve on everything and there are so many things to improve on. In order to change something in the world children need certain characteristics. Determination is what youth’s need to fight for change.

Alex Scott, a cancer patient, needed determination to change the world. She was determined in many ways to help other people with the same sickness as she had. One of the ways how Alex was determined was by making her own lemonade stand. Alex said to her mom, "when I get out of the hospital I want to have a lemonade stand." This shows that Alex was determined because she wanted to raise money for people who had the same sickness as she had. Whenever Alex was not being diagnosed she would have a lemonade stand in her garden to raised money for her hospital to research and cure cancer. Alex Scot already showed her determination through her childhood years by showing everyone some actions that men are actually not able to do with the sickness Alex had. One of the actions was walking at a young age when most children are not able to walk at a young age. This shows determination because Alex did not want to become sick. Alex started training to walk and stand up with leg braces. Alex Also showed some determination by fighting her own sickness. Cancer is one of those sicknesses where you can be really weak if the tumor is growing. Alex did not want to suffer but help the children around her who are going though the same procedure. The money that Alex has raised will really help the children in the future who are diagnosed with cancer. Alex Scott has really changed the world with her lemonade foundation because people all over the world are now having lemonade stands in their neighborhood to give to Alex Lemonade Stand Foundation. If everyone raises money for different causes the world will soon change into a better place.

Louis Braille, a blind boy used determination to change the lives of many blinds. A way how Louis showed determination was by learning because it was not easy to learn when you were blind and did not have many resources. The only way that Louis could learn when he was young was by listening. This taked determination because it is hard to always listen and not learn through different activities. From Louis's website you can see that Louis got really frustrated and wanted to stop with his learning. From his difficult and challenging experience Louis wanted to make it easier for other blind people to learn. This showed his determination because he had to trim down Barbier’s book into a smaller addition so it was easier for everyone to learn. These sign that are in Louis’ book are now used all over the world. Once the book was published Louis did not stop with creating sign. He was determined to make more and more signs for math, music and many more subjects. It is so much easier for blind people to learn because  is so much easier to learn through feeling and listening rather than listening only. The termination of Louis Braille changed the world of many blinds because the language of the blind is used everywhere in the world. Since the signs are everywhere, blind people can now go into cities on their own without to much guidance.

Ryan Hreljac, a boy who had determination for improving many children’s lives in Uganda. He changed the lives by making a well so that the children don’t have to walk a couple of hours to get clean water. ‘’All I had to do was take 10 steps from my classroom to get to the drinking fountain and I had clean water.’’ said by Ryan. When Ryan came home from his first grade class and had heard about the water issues in Uganda, He was determined to do something about it. He wanted to raise money for them so that they would have a well in their village. In order for this to happen he needed to raise money. Ryan did not have any money to start off with so he had to raise money. Ryan did not want to leave the project to he kept begging and begging but his parents kept refusing. This shows determination because Ryan is not giving up and he want to improve lives of other African families. Another action of how Ryan showed determination was to raise money and go to Uganda. Since Ryan did not have enough money he started doing more chores, collecting money at school, started talking to his school to gain money. He was determined to get as much money as he needed to help these children. After a couple week’s of work Ryan found out that he need about 2000 dollars more then what he had raised so far. Nobody really just gave him the money that he needed, he got it all by himself. This shows determination because he wanted to be proud and say that he changed the world at a very young age. Ryan has really impressed me because I never taught that someone could change a huge part of a village life in Africa at an age of first grade. I always taught that power had to do with changing the world but even very young kids can fight for change.

As I mentioned earlier, children need a certain characteristic in order to change the world. Determination is a very important one. Determination is need to pursue you ideas and to actually act them out. When Alex, Louis and Ryan were children they all had determination and that’s why they were successful in changing a bit of the world. These children stood up for their rights and proved to everyone that the world is worth fighting for and that we should all take part in it. If you have determination the world is worth fighting for because you can turn your own ideas into a big change. Big, tall, old or young, everyone has the possibility to change themselves and the place around them.

Fighting for Space!

"We've been there before," Obama said of the moon. "There's a lot more of space to explore and a lot more to learn when we do."
Everyday we see something that is from space. If it is in a movie, at school or at home, you’ll come across object or visuals that is space related. All these things come from the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA). Lately Barack Obama stopped giving money from the government to the NASA space program for going to the moon. He found the expenses that they had to cover too expensive especially since America is in debt and needs to spend their money carefully. If we cancel the space program/exploration we can't discover new evidence and data, will have a lot of people jobless and men will not have an escape if something goes wrong with the earth. From space you can find out a lot of new information that can change the future.

In space the astronauts discover new evidence and data that can change object on earth. Astronauts started to get a blurred vision after they stayed in space for a long time. Scientist have discovered ‘’anticipation glasses’’. When the astronauts start to get poor vision they can wear the glasses so that their eyes are still strong and they can continue with the work that they are doing. People on the earth itself can wear these glasses as well. Also from space they figured out that metal would attach to each other if both ends touch each other. This would mean that if you were to have two very important pieces and you put them together, you would have to go back to earth to get them made again. Also this is very handy because you don’t have to play around with screws when working with metals in space because they would attach by itself. If we stop finding out these facts we could not improve on further space flights in the future.

America is in a huge debt right now. Now with firing all the people they are going to be in even bigger problem. In NASA there is about 18 thousand people working on all the missions. These people include all the people who build the shuttle/rocket, all the astronauts and all the people around and in the company. Since Obama decided to cancel the moon missions, a lot of these people are going to be fired and they will be jobless. Now you have an even bigger problem because there will be about 18,000 people jobless adding onto the people that already have money issues. Now the government needs to pay all these people so that they can live properly. Even thought the NASA program cost a lot of money they still won’t be able to save a much money as they need to get out of their dept zone. America will eventually get over their economical issues and they will restart the space program. This will cost them so much money to set the company up again. Now you can see how canceling the space program won't get them out of their debt and will make them pay even more in the future. That is one reason why the space program is worth fighting for.

If we don’t research about information in space we will have nowhere to go when the resources run out on earth. When men need to leave earth because of dramatic reasons, the only way out is space. Space will be the future world for the people. The earth can’t keep giving all the people resources and the people can’t keep destroying the earth. If we stop researching about space, we will have no idea how everything is going to work. We won’t be able to live anymore and without research you can’t transport people into space when you don’t even know how they are going to survive. The information will change and change until some point were we won't be able to keep up with the changes of the universe. It is true that every year the moon fades 3cm away from earth. If we don’t keep track of the universe all around us then we will not be able to leave from earth. It is a plan in the future that NASA wants to go to mars. They also said that they might make a stop on the moon so that they can go from earth to the moon to mars. Now if these little pieces of information keeps changing then we won't have a successful missions when we go. I think that fighting for the space program must happen the space changes everyday and everything will go wrong if we want to have more missions.

I think that in the future, the next president will start the missions again and all the people can discover new outcomes, have all the old people working again and they can make plans in case we have to leave the earth. If NASA is going to start to think about going to mars, they better get some more information and research done because stopping the program is not going to help it. I feel really bad for the people that work with NASA because their lives are in these missions and I think quitting the program is like quitting their lives.
"I am 100 percent committed to the mission of NASA and its future," ( Barack Obama)

Laughing is the best medicine!

A day without laughter is a day wasted.
Laughter is a time where are actions are stopped and you just hear people cracking up. It is joyful time where everyone is bonding with each other. Whether it is about you or just a random joke, laughter makes your day. Laughter also makes you laugh at the end of the day when you think back of your memories. Even though people always think that laughter is only fun, it actually is very important. Laughter bonds people together and it makes some of your organs function better and makes it you feel better. Laughter is worth fighting for.

Laughter is important to fight for because laughter does bond people together. It is scientifically proven that laughter can help relationships work. Relationships can be challenging at some time and laughter brings people together. Some doctors think that laughter was made to make people bond and get closer. If you like someones humor than you will probably like the person as well. This is another reason why laughing is worth fighting for.

Additionally it is important to fight for laughter because it is healthy for your body. Laughing is good for several parts; your blood vessels, your heart, your brain and for exercise. It allows us to release chemicals that are needed around the body. It sends these chemicals through your blood around your brain and pumps through your heart. This way they can benefit from it too. Also laughing is an exercise. It is the act of you chest going up and down rapidly. Doctors say that if you laugh and do a little bit of exercise you will be fine. Laughing is equivalent to aerobic exercise. If laughter makes your body fit, then it is worth caring about.

Also laughter makes you feel better. It releases stress to help you relax. If your all stressed out and you need to do something to relax, it should be laughing. It releases the pain in your body to help you feel comfortable and safe. Meaning that you will do better on the thing you were stressed about. Laughing also makes you do better in school on certain areas like solving problems and on your creativity.

Laughing could also be associated with learning. If you laugh a lot in class and the teacher lets you,  you will like the class more than others. Having fun in a class is important because you'll care more about it and want to do more for that particular subject. No student wants to sit and watch the teacher explain the lesson. Children want their classes to be interesting and fun for them to go to. This way the teacher gets the attention when he/she talks and a fun class for them to teach.

Without laughter, the world would be so sorrowful. I think that laughing really suits me because I always laugh and smile. Laughing is always fun to do with your friends or family. Sometime people don't like each other because they have nothing in common. Once you start and experience the laughter that another person has you might change your view of their personalities. This is how it often works at school, with friends and in the world of business. You can laugh about the same joke a lot of times in order for you to not find it funny anymore. If laughter is fun, helps your body, bonds people together and makes you feel better then it is worth fighting for.

All you need in the world is love and laughter. That's all anybody needs. To have love in one hand and laughter in the other.

Speak Out!

You need wisdom
to be able to
question authority
to implore opinions.

Questioning society
about what you
personally believe in
challenges generations
to declare
and speak out
for
themselves.

From segregation to integration- Ruby Bridges

And thus goes segregation which is the most far-reaching development in the history of the Negro since the enslavement of the race.

The story of Ruby Bridges show that any one, any age can fight for their peace. In 1954 when Ruby was born she faced a problem in the United States when segregation was still in the country. White and black people had their own school, communities, toilets, restaurants ect. As a black attending an all white school issued some problems in the community. Throughout this whole process Ruby was very brave and stood up for herself.
Segregation was important to fight for because if it weren’t for the people that stood up or the people like Mrs. Henry (Ruby’s teacher) segregation would still be in place and we would still have everything separated. Integration allows us to work together and form a better society. There are things that both groups at that time could do better than the other. Now they can work together and create a stable base for the society and it’s future.
Additionally what Ruby did is not only benefiting her. It is also benefiting the other colored children. Once she went to the school for over a year, the parents sent their children back to school. Slowly all the public/private schools turned into integrated schools so that anyone could join. This caused a change because all children were now able to have the same changes that they all deserved.
Without Ruby bridges and the other up-standers the world would be different right now because it could still be integrated. Ruby Bridges is inspirational to me because se made a big change in the world. She had to ignore the people the crowds, go against her father thoughts and what he thought was right and had to stand up and not feel depressed about the things the crowds were saying to her.

Integration is a man's ability to want to move in there by himself. If someone wants to live in a white neighborhood and he is black, that is his choice. It should be his rights. It is not because white people will not allow him.

The New World with sustainability.

The first rule of sustainability is to align with natural forces, or at least not try to defy them.

Sustainability is defined as taking care of the environment and not cutting all the wood or polluting all the rivers and oceans. If given the opportunity to begin a New World, I would hope the society would built around sustainability.
Sustainability will be an important characteristic in the New World because if the people from the Old World would of kept it clean, they did not have to leave. Then they could of stayed there longer and after all the resources have been used then they could of left to the New World. This way they can live longer because the resources would still be there after they have moved. If the community uses all the resources in no time then the whole society would have to move to a different planet if there are any other planets with the requirements that this society needs.

Additionally, it is important for a society to be built around sustainability in case there is a serious emergency they have extra materials. This way when there comes a natural disaster and people have kept extra materials in the world then the people can use the rest to rebuild their society and go on with their lives. If you look at some countries on this world you can see that they are in need of supplies. Maybe the new world can slow it down and not have the best of the best because sooner they realize that they needed the objects.

Without sustainability, the New World would have trouble because they would have to move planets if they keep doing what their old habit which was wasting materials or they can't rebuild their society because they would not have enough supplies.

As mentioned earlier, sustainability once claimed, ‘’The first rule of sustainability is to align with natural forces, or at least not try to defy them, (Paul Hawken)’’, meaning to come together and work together. Not to use all the materials that the environment has to offer.

Wall display- Game Masters Keyboard

For my project of the Hunger Games wall display I made a Game Masters keyboard where the game masters can choose what they want to happen in the Arena. I think this was significant to the book because the game masters plan what kind of obstacles stand in the way of the tributes and the trophy of winning the Hunger Games. Every time something happened in the arena such as the fire or the tracker jacker nest it was because the Game Makers wanted to drive the tributes all together. On my project it shows 20 different obstacles with some pictures to describe the words. I think this project shows the understanding of the book through my eyes because it may not be so much writing but I did use my visual literacy skills that I have learned from other projects.

(will add my picture later)
