Speak Out!

You need wisdom
to be able to
question authority
to implore opinions.

Questioning society
about what you
personally believe in
challenges generations
to declare
and speak out
for
themselves.

From segregation to integration- Ruby Bridges

And thus goes segregation which is the most far-reaching development in the history of the Negro since the enslavement of the race.

The story of Ruby Bridges show that any one, any age can fight for their peace. In 1954 when Ruby was born she faced a problem in the United States when segregation was still in the country. White and black people had their own school, communities, toilets, restaurants ect. As a black attending an all white school issued some problems in the community. Throughout this whole process Ruby was very brave and stood up for herself.
Segregation was important to fight for because if it weren’t for the people that stood up or the people like Mrs. Henry (Ruby’s teacher) segregation would still be in place and we would still have everything separated. Integration allows us to work together and form a better society. There are things that both groups at that time could do better than the other. Now they can work together and create a stable base for the society and it’s future.
Additionally what Ruby did is not only benefiting her. It is also benefiting the other colored children. Once she went to the school for over a year, the parents sent their children back to school. Slowly all the public/private schools turned into integrated schools so that anyone could join. This caused a change because all children were now able to have the same changes that they all deserved.
Without Ruby bridges and the other up-standers the world would be different right now because it could still be integrated. Ruby Bridges is inspirational to me because se made a big change in the world. She had to ignore the people the crowds, go against her father thoughts and what he thought was right and had to stand up and not feel depressed about the things the crowds were saying to her.

Integration is a man's ability to want to move in there by himself. If someone wants to live in a white neighborhood and he is black, that is his choice. It should be his rights. It is not because white people will not allow him.

The New World with sustainability.

The first rule of sustainability is to align with natural forces, or at least not try to defy them.

Sustainability is defined as taking care of the environment and not cutting all the wood or polluting all the rivers and oceans. If given the opportunity to begin a New World, I would hope the society would built around sustainability.
Sustainability will be an important characteristic in the New World because if the people from the Old World would of kept it clean, they did not have to leave. Then they could of stayed there longer and after all the resources have been used then they could of left to the New World. This way they can live longer because the resources would still be there after they have moved. If the community uses all the resources in no time then the whole society would have to move to a different planet if there are any other planets with the requirements that this society needs.

Additionally, it is important for a society to be built around sustainability in case there is a serious emergency they have extra materials. This way when there comes a natural disaster and people have kept extra materials in the world then the people can use the rest to rebuild their society and go on with their lives. If you look at some countries on this world you can see that they are in need of supplies. Maybe the new world can slow it down and not have the best of the best because sooner they realize that they needed the objects.

Without sustainability, the New World would have trouble because they would have to move planets if they keep doing what their old habit which was wasting materials or they can't rebuild their society because they would not have enough supplies.

As mentioned earlier, sustainability once claimed, ‘’The first rule of sustainability is to align with natural forces, or at least not try to defy them, (Paul Hawken)’’, meaning to come together and work together. Not to use all the materials that the environment has to offer.
