And thus goes segregation which is the most far-reaching development in the history of the Negro since the enslavement of the race.
The story of Ruby Bridges show that any one, any age can fight for their peace. In 1954 when Ruby was born she faced a problem in the United States when segregation was still in the country. White and black people had their own school, communities, toilets, restaurants ect. As a black attending an all white school issued some problems in the community. Throughout this whole process Ruby was very brave and stood up for herself. Segregation was important to fight for because if it weren’t for the people that stood up or the people like Mrs. Henry (Ruby’s teacher) segregation would still be in place and we would still have everything separated. Integration allows us to work together and form a better society. There are things that both groups at that time could do better than the other. Now they can work together and create a stable base for the society and it’s future. Additionally what Ruby did is not only benefiting her. It is also benefiting the other colored children. Once she went to the school for over a year, the parents sent their children back to school. Slowly all the public/private schools turned into integrated schools so that anyone could join. This caused a change because all children were now able to have the same changes that they all deserved.
Without Ruby bridges and the other up-standers the world would be different right now because it could still be integrated. Ruby Bridges is inspirational to me because se made a big change in the world. She had to ignore the people the crowds, go against her father thoughts and what he thought was right and had to stand up and not feel depressed about the things the crowds were saying to her.
Integration is a man's ability to want to move in there by himself. If someone wants to live in a white neighborhood and he is black, that is his choice. It should be his rights. It is not because white people will not allow him.
